The photos below are all very different and are made from a variety of sources but they all share a light-of-a-stormy-night sensibility that I found represented my developing aesthetic. I was encouraged to follow the path they illuminated.
Before 2006 I made color slides of little table-top scenes and objects I found. Toy houses, famous architecture and puppets were the main subjects. I used these photos to start paintings. Suddenly, with “mountain construction” and “Kabbalist windmill” I began to like the photos in the same way I liked the paintings.
